Define
In this stage we try to understand the different forces that will influence the design process. We examine the expectations of the users, the business objectives and the technical restrictions. The end result of this analysis is typically a plan for realizing the complete project. Activities during the Define Phase include:
- Audit and analysis: understanding the existing site or application, its use, and the issues raised by users, business stakeholders and technical people involved in the project. We also perform independent audits to evaluate existing projects.
- Online strategy: zooming in on the business aspect of the project. We help you define an online strategy that aligns your organization’s online activities with your overall business strategy.
- Understanding the target audiences: to build a solution you need to understand your audience. We personalize the different audiences by creating personas, composite profiles of the different types of users visiting the site.
- Concept Design: developing a concept to frame the actual design process. This is usually a visual representation of what could be designed. It enables all parties involved in the project to understand and imagine where it is going.
- Tactical plan: the last service in the define phase is the creation of a tactical plan to take the project forward.
